That's what it's all about....

I am truly surprised at how much my little kindergartners are nutso about the Hokey Pokey. I mean they LOVE it. Generally, of an afternoon, I'll interrupt our whole-class discussions and lessons whenever the kids are getting squirmy and offer an opportunity for us to all move our bodies in song and dance. A few weeks ago, we started doing the Hokey Pokey. It's not like I'm even selling it that hard, I mean, we're not exactly doing some souped-up mosher version. I'll even pause and slow it down if my kids are getting too ecstastic in their revelry. The other day, after a long-ish session of sitting, I drawled, "Alllll right. Stand up." I swear, at least three voices trumpeted happily, "Hokey Pokey?!?" Kids are strange, strange creatures.
